Cartoons which are source of entertainment for the children are not just an entertainment but they also effect child’s behaviors. The mind of a child develops in early life and gets adopted to his intimate surroundings, which ultimately affect his personality. In 21st century the media plays a crucial role in every aspect of life. Apart from being advantageous, it is equally hazardous especially for the character building of the children. In this respect cartoon movies play most of the part. Children imitate what they see and hear. For them the cartoon characters become the role models. They adopt what appeals them the most and their real life becomes fantasized. The thesis portrays the effects of violence depicted in the cartoon movies, most particularly Tom and Jerry who constantly search the ways to hurt each other to gain pleasure. The tactics used by Tom and Jerry appeal the children and stimulate them to act in the same way, resulting in aggressive personality. This aggression is also visible in their drawings which are replicated in the miniature paintings. Moreover, the idea of children’s personality being harmed is conveyed through the depiction of innocent act casting the shadow of a violent act.
