Dr. Neerja Chandna Peters
My series is an ode to rich spiritual heritage of India, where creating art was a means to reaching a state of bliss through connection with one’s consciousness.
The diverging lines depict general lifting up of faculties of being to find natural entry into subtler planes of existence before being completely absorbed into a state of loss of separateness from the Universe or Absolute.
Meditation requires our consciousness to self gather, focus, and move towards the inner light. That is depicted by the brilliance of the centre of these works.
Tantricism also depicts and maps the mechanism of currents of energy and distribution of creative impulses through the body and unison of consciousness with the Source.
Though thematically and philosophically close to Neo Tantra, these works have an innocent playfulness and joy that I wish to convey through my expression, yet maintaining the seriousness of the theme.
