Maqbool Ahmed
Maqbool Ahmed is a Pakistani painter born in Quetta in 1958. He studied at the National College of Arts, Lahore and graduated in 1984. The artist is passionate about women’s lack of voice and suppression in Pakistani society, and has made it his life’s work to highlight these issues in his art. Soft, sensuous female forms have become his trademark style, as well as themes such as transparency, 3D and geometric dreamscapes. Ahmed acquires his own entirely unique and distinct style to distinguish himself among his contemporaries. “Maqbool Ahmed is basically a landscape painter and is very much inspired by the legendary landscape painter, Khalid Iqbal,” – Maqbool Ahmed has exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions in Pakistan, as well as in Dubai, Malaysia and Canada.
