Marie Korovina
My name is Marie Korovina. I was born high in the mountains of Uzbekistan. For me creativity begins here at sunrise with the cool mountains amidst the emerald bowls of the valleys, sprinkled with flowers. In the beauty of this land, washed by the ancient waters, is my inspiration. Here, in the territory of my homeland, the Ilak state prospered many centuries ago like a radiant mystery sparkling in the nights of the centuries. Possessing the ability to penetrate time, I am deeply impressed by the places and events that I see and hear through the thickness of time. I can say for sure that the trade routes of the Silk Road are not lost. The ancient cities are not asleep. The East is eternal for me. It is a fairy-tale image, a sign and a sacred symbol that cannot be changed. It is formed forever. To learn the art of creators who have left us, I traveled on caravan roads to experience thousands of sunrises and thousands of worlds. There I was able to discover laws about how line and colour bring harmony to the spiritual and physical states of man. Consequently, I now build my work on strong, light-colour contrasts using a full colour spectrum. In the curves of lines I place the bright vibrations of life. This approach is reminiscent of oriental fabric designs like ikat, satin, and adras that resemble an endless, celebratory dance. As a result, I have created my own style and creative direction that helps people not only to delight at the appearance of what I create, but also to gain strength for a new, personal passage of inspiration and success.
