Mauro Moriconi

Mauro Moriconi was born in Lucca in 1980. After completing his studies at the artistic high school in Lucca, he moved to Florence where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts. From 2003 to 2004 he lived and worked in Lisbon, where he continued his academic studies and organized the his first solo show. Returning to Florence in 2004, he conducted an in-depth study on the work of the artist Mimmo Rotella, known in his studio in Milan and from whom he learned the décollage technique, which later merged into his work on his degree thesis. Between 2004 and 2007 he exhibited his works made with the technique learned by Rotella at the Ken's Art Gallery in Florence. In 2007 Moriconi created his first photographic plate engraved on aluminum: this innovative technique marked an expressive turning point for the artist and became the key to success that led him to collaborate with the Catm Ny Gallery in New York and Soho Gallery in Beverly Hills in the USA. In 2008 he obtained recognition from the Municipality of Prato as the best emerging artist. In 2011 he began his collaboration with the Die Mauer Contemporary Art Gallery in Prato, and in 2013 he was selected for the Mia Fair International Photography Fair in Milan, where his photographic series Le Cirque got the attention of the press. In 2015 he was selected by the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato for the TU35 exhibition. In 2017 he participates again in the International Photography Fair in Milan Mia Fair with the Un-familiar series and its reinterpretation in Polaroid version. In 2017 FBML organizes its first retrospective. In 2019 he was reported at the Affordable Art Fair in Milan for the original use of a mix of art and new technologies
