My work is a reflection of myself: my life, my experiences, ideas, values, feelings, and beliefs. My culture has definitely had a big influence in the aesthetics of my work: the unique shapes and forms, the vibrant colors, and the many Mexican artists that I admire are a big source of inspiration. I have always admired naturalism, especially photographic realism, but personally I rely on abstraction and conceptional art to express my ideas. My art is my refuge and therapy, a place that allows me to release my emotions and express my ideas; it’s what gives me a voice. My artwork is versatile and always evolving, it’s a sign of my never ending journey into learning and exploration. It’s a perpetuation of my appreciation for growth and evolution. I don’t like the idea of sticking to one kind of type or art or one subject matter because I like to explore and learn new things and new skills. I think that life has many shades and many colors: life is not always black and white, is not always happy of sad; there are many nuances in between. This is all part of my personal growth and evolution both as an artist and as a human beings, and of my life experiences.
