I'm originally from Hollywood, California but make my home now in Calgary, Alberta. Being born into a family of artists and musicians I naturally fell into the path of a creative. After years of painting more traditional compositions I became enamored with the surrealists - Marcel Duchamp and Rene Magritte in particular. Their flamboyance and unique perception of art fascinated me, and I knew that this was the direction I wanted my work to take. This realization felt very liberating and my art work developed in a new and wonderful way. It was then that I discovered working in mixed mediums. The layers of textures and colors I created with juxtaposed images were the perfect way to express the compositions in my head. And that is how I became a Pop Surrealist.
