Art is a collective term used to signify a vast array of cultural as well as historic traditions that signify a certain civilization, or era. The artistic influences found in major Pakistani culture are that of Islamic ideology, and also borrows heavily from the Indian subcontinent. Our Beautiful Land' (Sohni Dharti) has always been a profound source of inspiration for painters throughout history. Whether it be the serene countryside, majestic mountains, or the vast expanse of oceans, the landscapes we inhabit have a unique ability to evoke emotions and ignite our imagination.
The current array of arts in Pakistan is hugely divergent and spans a broad range of trends that are different in individual provinces, cultures and regions of the country. Most of the contemporary landscape painters like Shahid Jalal, Zulfiqar Zulfi, Mughees Riaz, Abid Khan, Mian Athar, captures the serenity found in the vast fields. These painters paint a vivid picture of golden waves of wheat swaying in the wind, the yellow carpet of mustard field creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere. The gentle curve of the earth adds a sense of harmony, making the painting a gentle reminder of the beauty that lies in our surroundings.

These painters use of different medium with the cold and warm color palette further emphasizes the overwhelming beauty of these natural wonders. The painter’s choice of palate such as evokes a sense of power and strength. These painting's give us a glimpse into the beauty of our beloved land, (Sohni Dharti) reminding us of the wonders that surround us. From the serene fields to the majestic mountains and the captivating ocean, each landscape offers its own unique charm.
