Statement of Exhibition

Cityscape painting is evidently a significant branch of landscape painting which is in fact considered urban landscape. This type of landscape has been in vogue from the earliest time in the history of mankind. Probably its first appearance its available in frescoes at the bath of Trajan in Rome in the 1^st century AD, and with time it considered as an important branch of art till today. In Pakistan number of artists retain the propensity depicting various scenes relating to the cityscape and their work can easily be classified in the number of categories. Their work reveals the depiction of a spot from its imitative state to the highly subjective representation. Varying from individual, categorically a few artists have taken the liberty to evolve a type of a style which translates their emotive and esoteric necessity.
